Revlon Legacy Collection - Icy Violet Review [and a dupe]
Revlon released its legacy collection a few weeks ago - This limited collection of lipsticks spans seven decades of Revlon's history and the shades in this collection were voted on by customers. The collection has five colors - Icy Violet (from 1946) ; Snow Peach (from 1956); Sandstorm (from 1999); 5th Ave Red (from 1958) and Jungle Peach (from 1963). I hear they are quite hard to find, but I found all five shades at my CVS. I picked up Icy Violet.
Icy violet is plummy with a pearl frost finish - very cool toned. The coverage is not very opaque; it applies evenly and lasts about 3 hours. There is no scent or taste to this lipstick. Great color for everyday wear. It cost $8.99 at my CVS. if you are a fan of Revlon lipsticks, the collection and this color is worth checking out. As I was swatching Icy Violet for this post, I found two replicas (also from the Revlon Super Lustreous lipstick line) in my stash So I figured, I will share some alternatives ("dupes") with you as well. [This is what happens when you don't shop your stash often].
The Revlon super lustrous lipstick in 467 (Pearl Collection -plum baby) and 475 (Pearl Collection - Icy Violet) are an exact match in color and finish (see swatches above) to the Icy Violet (from 1946). There is no difference (at least none that I can tell). if you cannot find the Icy Violet from the legacy collection - either of these will give you the same results. 467 Plum Baby is available at drugstores and Ulta; 475 Icy Violet is a bit harder to find - a few amazon sellers carry this color. These two shades cost $6.99 at my drugstore (so $2 cheaper than the legacy collection).
