We may not be traveling as much anymore, but life has continued one way or another. Last weekend, I engaged in actual social gathering for the first time since March. We gathered to celebrate one of my dearest friends at a lovely restaurant in Dallas - Pangea; it was a joy to be around people and get elbow shakes and hugs (yep, we hugged like three people before our flight kicked in) then it was hand sanitizers and face masks the rest of the evening. In hindsight, not the smartest move given how the COVID new cases have risen in Texas this week so currently on day 7 of self isolation.
This weekend is the start of something new in this corner of the internet with the TSE Weekend List. My way of sharing my non-travel life with you; everything, including, a peek into my k-drama obsession. This list is everything I have loved reading: cooking, eating, and listening to during the week. So let's get started.
What I am cooking - this bon appetit Spaghetti al Limone with Asparagus has made repeat appearances in the meal plan rotation. Also, this honey beer bread recipe has become my Sunday afternoon baking tradition.
What I am listening to - I discovered, "You're wrong about" podcast, and I have recommended it to everyone I know. I started with the June 8 episode on Jessica Simpson's book. Now I am delving deep into their podcast archive. I have also been revisiting the "Code Switch" podcast, an essential podcast for the current day.
What I am watching. I spent most of the quarantine (re)watching old favorites like The Office and Parks and Rec. I did take a break to delve into a Mexican drama on Netflix - El Dragon (Obsessed) - yes, it is subtitled, but that is my sweet spot.
Add to your watch list. The latest k-drama premiered on Netflix last weekend. I am saving it for the July 4 weekend so I can binge-watch it - the clips I have allowed myself to watch online are stunning - add to your watchlist - it's okay not to be okay.
Who I am following. It is sometimes hard to find authenticity in these parts, but I discovered a lovely page a few weeks ago, and it has been light in these times - thenorthernbelleofthesouth. BLM even if we are no longer posting black squares and the information thenorthernbelleofthesouth is sharing is more than needed in this moment - lets keep the conversations going.
What I am reading. This article and this article about Black wall street and the Tulsa massacre - wow!
Where I want to splurge on. As part of my move last fall, I lost my YSL sunglasses which hurt because they were a big birthday splurge from a few years ago. As replacement, I have been obsessed with the Dreamer 17 TA gentle monster sunglasses for the last six months, and I finally added a line to my budget to save up to buy it. (#treatyoself)
Have a great weekend.
