SAINT JEAN CAP FERRAT , FRANCE - WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT (IN PICTURES)
Ever since Issa Rae’s wedding pictures from her summer wedding in this beautiful town in France were published; I have heard more people add this to their bucket list and for the first time I felt like a cool kid because I got to visit it before it got on every one’s radar - it might be the only time in my life I was ahead of any trend (so I am taking the win)
Setting trends aside, Saint Jean Cap Ferrat is stunning (I need to find more adjectives to use to describe this region of the France); because stunning does not seem to fully capture it. The main reason I visited was to check out Villa Rothschild. I had seen it in pictures and always thought it would be a stunning place to get married and since I was in the area, I figured I would check it out.
The stunning view of the Mediterranean sold me on town even before I got a chance to explore.
Best time to visit: Year round. Like most of this region, has warmer temperatures in the winter so it is a great escape from any cold temperature you may be suggested to this time of year. The first time I visited this region , it was middle of November and it was still warm enough for a dip in the ocean. I will still advise you pack a light jacket as the temperature drops in the evening.
Where to stay: I was staying in Nice for the duration of my visit and planned a day trip to St. Jean Cap Ferrat; however, these hotels in St Jean cap ferret were highly recommended - Hotel riviera; Grand hotel du cap ferret and La perouse.
Getting to here. This town is less than 30 mins from Nice and under an hour from the Nice airport; if you visiting from Nice; there are two buses that will get you. At the date of this post, you can take Bus 15 heading to St. Jean Cap Ferrat or take Bus 100 heading to Monaco and get off pont saint-jean.
For your itinerary: Wheather you visit for a day or spend an extended time here, don’t leave without visiting: Villa Rothschild ; Villa Kerylos; Villa Santo Sospir; Plage de Paloma and Plage de Passable.
