Summer to-do List
Every year when summer rolls around, I make mental plans of everything I need to do, but then fall rolls around and none of those things have been accomplished. I love to make list and my to-do list is what help me stay on track and get things done. I decided to put my summer to-do list on paper, there are several items on my list, but these five I thought will be fun to share with you. I will also share my progress and how I am getting it done - so here goes, in order of priority:
Closet Reorg. A little while back, I attended a brunch event - The special guest speaker was Lisa Rowe of The Perfect Image by Lisa Rowe. The topic of discussion - builiding and organizing an efficient closet. I planned to put her tips to practice by giving my closet a complete overhaul, but never got around to it. I think this is the summer to tackle that project.
Pantry Redo. I have to mention - I use the word pantry quite loosely -- What I have is more of a very tiny built in closet in my kitchen. I have never had any rhythm to how its organized and I have tried quite a few times to get it done to terrible results so I gave up completely. This summer I have a plan, armed with this post by MyStylePad, I think a Pantry redo is not too far in the future.
Start Training for a 5 K. Along with my fitness bucket list, I downloaded the couch to 5k app to help me go from absolute couch potato to runner in nine weeks. I am also planning to register for the Susan G. Komen race for the cure - Dallas on October 18th, 2014. I need to get to training, so I don't pass out and completely embarass myself at the race.
Media Collection Edit. In my undergrad and grad days I collected a insane amount of music CDs. I also went through a phase (in the days of blockbusters) - where I could not resist their 3 for $30 dvd sales. As a result I have a insane collection of CDs and DVDs - Most of which I never listen to or watch (and with Netflix, Spooify, Itunes and Pandora) --- My collections seems completely mute. It takes up about half of my living room storage. I need a major downsize. Still not sure what my game plan is to tackle this, but I will be sure to share it as soon as I do.
Pick out new furniture. The last bit on my summer to - do list is picking out new furniture (which goes hand in hand with a mini redecoration, of course). I have owned my current furniture for seven years --- all items I picked up from IKEA or outlet stores. I was just out of grad school and did not have enough money for something more fancy. I don't intend to change every piece of furniture this summer, but I will like to pick out a new sofa, coffee table, side tables and chair for my work desk this summer.
So there you have it - My summer to do list. I will make sure to write-up a post on my progress as the summer moves along.
What is on your summer to-do list?
