PHOTO DIARY : MDINA (THE SILENT CITY) IN MALTA

A photo diary of the silent city - Mdina. Mdina dates back 4000 years and most notably know where St. Paul lived after being shipwrecked in Malta; more recently, fans of the game of thrones will recognize some of Mdina's scenes from the show. Plan a half-day to visit and explore. I don't consider Mdina as one of those spots requiring an itinerary; wear comfortable shoes and let yourself wander through Mdina - it is the best way to see it. If you want specifics, do not miss, keep an eye out for the main city gate; the Cathedral museum;  St. Paul's churchExplore the cafes on Piazza MesquitaLunch at Bacchus and the Fontanella tea garden for amazing homemade cakes. I did not have an itinerary and managed to stumble on the most beautiful scenes during my wander. Unfortunately, due to work issues, I spent a lot of my time there on conference calls, so I could not capture a log of the beauty I saw to share but trust me - it is worth a few hours of your itinerary.
