What a week - it started out with a light brunch - with proper social distancing - it felt good but awkward at the same time if that makes any sense. To day I thought we will chat about some of my favorite crime podcasts before getting to this week’s offerings. Podcast are an escape for me and I listen to an episode a day at minimum.
Podcasts are one of my favorite things.
You may have noticed from my weekly recommendation. I listen while working ; listen during my workouts; on a drive ; cleaning (you get it). I listen to every genre but the scale is tipped more towards true crimes than other genre. There is a long list of ones I have listened to and ones I have on my list to listen to. Here are my top five true crime podcasts with you. I have tagged this a volume 1 as I am more than certain there will be subsequent / update top five list.
West Cork - This podcast sought to answer the questions surrounding the murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier in the Irish town of Cork.
The Thing about Pam. One of the tag lines for this podcast is “Truth is stranger than fiction”. That about sums it up. I am not sure any summary I give will be sufficient - go listen and tell me if you are as shocked as I was.
Who the hell is Amish ? - This is an Australian podcast about a conman name Amish ? It had me on the edge of my seat quite frankly. Glad I came to this one when the series was complete and could listen tot he full series.
The Clearing. Follows the daughter of a serial killer as she searches for answers for herself and the victims of her father’s crime.
Detective Trapp. The podcast tell the story of a female detective , the only woman homicide dietetic in her squad; who will not rest until she gets answers and justice for the women who were brutally murdered.
Now onto this week’s offering - it is more somber than usual so only take what you can handle. It will be here when you need to revisit.
This beautiful tribute to civil rights giant John Lewis tribute written by 44 - “ He loved this country so much that he risked his life and his blood so that it might live up to its promise. And through the decades, he not only gave all of himself to the cause of freedom and justice, but inspired generations that followed to try to live up to his example. “
The heartbreaking impact of COVID on our healthcare heroes and a conversation we are not having but should be having
